How the MP4 to GIF Converter works
Upload an MP4 clip and it loads directly into your browser's own video player — nothing is sent anywhere. Drag the two handles on the scrubber bar to select exactly which part of the video to convert, choose a frame rate and output width, then hit Convert. The tool steps through your selected range frame by frame, draws each one to a canvas at your chosen size, and stitches them together into a single animated GIF using your browser's own processing power.
Lower frame rates (5–10 fps) keep the file size small and are usually enough for reaction GIFs or short loops. Higher frame rates (15–20 fps) look smoother but produce larger files — useful for clips with fast motion. Keep clips under about 15 seconds for the best balance of quality and conversion speed; very long or high-resolution selections can take a while to encode since everything runs on your device rather than a server.
